Paul Graham says technology enables programmers to have a wide spread of productivity, within the profession.
technology has been doing that for a long time. think of Quincy Jones in the 70's, much more productive than the average producer.
tonight, instead of packing for Mexico, I recorded At Dusk's newest tracks for the upcoming album. we'd tried to do this once last week, but computer problems put us out.
but tonight everything went as smoothly as we could have hoped. the computer only tried to give up once, and I conquered it. we recorded rough versions of 4 songs, bringing the total (including last week's) to 6.

Its been nice to spend time with Amy and my family and be away from the stress of working and work and recording and stuff. Today I've been in hibernation, despite meeting a bunch of new people at my brother's house. which is very nice, btw.
